Daniel Chen

Ten years ago, Daniel and his wife chose Burnaby as the place to buy their first home and welcome their son. Having previously lived and worked across Vancouver and Richmond during the early days of his design career, moving to Burnaby gave Daniel a profound appreciation for what makes this city truly special: its unique beauty, rich cultural diversity, thriving natural spaces, and deeply rooted family communities. These personal connections are what drive his vision for Burnaby’s future.

Professionally, Daniel lives by two simple principles: brand ideas and design dreams. As a creative entrepreneur, he has successfully navigated the complexities of business ownership, founding the design firm STUCKAPART and co-founding Birth Skincare—a brand inspired directly by his family. Throughout his career, Daniel has mastered the art of building effective strategies within tight parameters. He specializes in bringing clarity to ambiguity—a vital skill for municipal operations and management—and excels at communicating complex, nuanced ideas clearly and transparently.

For Daniel, being a husband, a father and an entrepreneur means showing his son that pursuing your passions is not a selfish endeavor, but a pathway to serving others. He sees 2026 as a pivotal year to channel his professional skills and deep community roots directly into public service.

Inspired by Heymann and a team of dedicated leaders who put the public good above all else, Daniel is running for City Council to be a voice for unity. His goal is to champion a diverse network of community leaders, strengthen our common ground, and bring fresh, creatively inspired leadership to Burnaby City Hall. Despite the challenges we all face, he remains hopelessly optimistic and has never felt more creatively inspired to make a difference.
